How early is too early to plan for looking completely beach-ready by summer? If the idea of this season’s new swimwear line has you thinking about getting laser hair removal, you might want to jot down these questions for your consultation.

1. Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Lasers have come a long way since they were first used for cosmetic purposes, but laser hair removal still isn’t ideal for darker skin tones or light-colored hair such as blonde, white or gray. Before you start planning your treatment, it’s a good idea to consult an experienced laser specialist first to see if LHR could be right for you.

2. How Many Treatments Will I Need?

One important thing to know about laser hair removal is that it’s not a one-and-done procedure. The exact number of treatments you’ll need will depend on your individual case, so the most accurate answer you’re going to get will come from your certified laser technician during your consultation.

LHR treatments on the face are normally spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, and treatments on the body are spaced 8 to 10 weeks apart.*

3. How Do I Care for My Skin between Treatments?

In between each laser hair removal session, take care of your skin by staying out of the sun whenever possible and making sure you wear sunscreen. Although you can shave between sessions, you should not wax or pluck your hair, as these hair removal methods can hinder the results of your next treatment.
