Profound® RF Microneedling is one of the most innovative skin treatments of the past decade. One of the only FDA-approved skin rejuvenating procedures, the Profound treatment is a safe, non-invasive, and effective way to combat wrinkles and sagging skin in the lower face and neck, while helping to build collagen in your skin. You probably hear about a new way to boost collagen almost every day, but we’re here to tell you that this one actually works.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a Profound RF Microneedling treatment, it is important to know how you should prepare for your appointment, as well as what you can expect afterwards.

How to Prepare For Your Profound RF Microneedling Appointment

In order to get the best results with your treatment, you will want to make sure you are as prepared as possible. In the days leading up to your treatment, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking at least 64oz of water a day. It is also important to avoid alcohol for at least 7 days prior to the day of your treatment, and NSAIDS for 14 days, to ensure that no bruising will occur. You will also want to discontinue any use of any retinoids or other products that could irritate the skin for at least 3 days prior to your Profound RF Microneedling appointment. Finally, avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ sunscreen if sun exposure is necessary.

Your Profound RF Microneedling Recovery & Results

After your Profound RF Microneedling treatment, expect the treated area to be a bit swollen and red. There may also be some slight bruising. For the first 45 minutes after treatment, you will be given an ice compress that should help with the swelling and bruising. For the next 24 hours, you will want to alternate the ice compress for 20 minutes on and off. It is also recommended that you sleep with your head elevated for the next 2 to 3 nights after your treatment. While results vary for each individual, it’s not uncommon to start seeing improvements within six weeks after your treatment.
